The Exchange at Athens is a student housing development at The University of Georgia designed by Meeks Design Group, Inc in 2006. Each type of project is unique and has different aspects that must be considered. With student housing, you must consider who will be living there. It is important to keep the students in mind during the entire process along with the location.

The entrance is classy and clean, catching the eye while keeping easy maintenance for the property.

All leasing offices must be appealing but student offices must be inviting and not pretentious. This design is a great combination of symmetrical planting and bright colors that create a welcoming feel for these students to walk through.

The biggest draw for a student is the amenities. They want a great pool area, a nice place to hang out, and appealing landscape. The fountain above is a great piece that adds style to the pool area.

The pool area was designed knowing that this would be a hang out place for all types of college students. There is a lap pool, sports pool, tanning pool, and play pool. A place for everyone.

The other area that is key in a pool area is the grill area. Students love to have barbecues with their friends. The design chose for the project includes a built in grill, fire pit, and seating area. Perfect for all types of gatherings year round.

This project was fun to design because of it’s unique clientele. Student housing is something that we pride ourselves in designing with the student in mind.
